Original condition: The Devils receive the Hurricanes 2020 3rd round pick if Sami Vatanen plays in at least 12 regular season games in the 2019-20 NHL Regular Season or 70% of the games for the Hurricanes in the 2019-20 Stanley Cup Playoffs. If Vatanen instead plays in at least 5 regular season games in the 2019-20 NHL Regular Season, the Devils receive the Hurricanes 2020 4th round pick. Revised condition: If the Hurricanes defeat the Rangers in the 2020 play-in series and Vatanen plays in at least 70% of the Hurricanes in the 2019-20 Stanley Cup Playoffs games, (excluding the play-in), then the Devils receive the Hurricanes 2020 3rd round pick. If the Hurricanes defeat the Rangers in the 2020 play-in series and Vatanen plays in at least 2 games against the Rangers but fewer than 70% of the Hurricanes playoff games, then the Devils receive the Hurricanes 2020 4th round pick. If the Hurricanes lose to the Rangers in the 2020 play-in series and Vatanen plays in at least 2 games against the Rangers, then the Devils receive either the Hurricanes 2020 or 2021 4th round pick.
